Classical Vocalist - Instructor

Vidushi Rachana Deshpande is a distingushed classical vocalist, educator, performer and the Founder of Abhyankar Music Academy - School of Hindustani Music, based in Toronto with a strong online presence and active teaching and performance network in North America.

Rachana Ji holds a Masters Degree in Hindustani Music from Bharati Vidyapeeth University of Pune and completed her Post Graduation in Honors. She received her training under the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara from eminent Gurus from Gwalior and Jaipur-Atrauli Gharanas. She received formal training from Ramesh Abhyankar, Anjali Malkar and Apoorva Gokhale. She continues her riyaz under the guidance of renowned Vocalist Apoorva Gokhale. She is a registered examiner and vocal instructor from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and Bharati Vidyapeeth University of Pune. Her art work is an orchestra of Performance, research, Pedagogy, teaching and voice culture with special focus on aesthetics of music and traditional music values.

Rachana ji has performed in various programs in Canada. she also provides art platform to her students through annual recitals showcasing their progress and boosting their confidence.
